Kyle Gehring discovered his passion for filmmaking in his early teens, a commitment that was reinforced through his attendance at the School of Cinematography and Performing Arts (SOCAPA) in both Los Angeles and New York, (G-Star School of the Arts for Film, Animation, and Performing Arts), and through his enrollment at (Full Sail University) where he acquired a Bachelors of Science degree in Film. “For me filmmaking is all consuming. I love it and live for it.”
Beginnings
First Short Film Produced "Aversion Conspiracy"
In 2010 Kyle's first official short film was produced, "Aversion Conspiracy".
Mr. Gehring Produced & Directed his first official short film "Aversion Conspiracy" in 2011, and won multiple awards at film festivals around the US in 2012. The production started his junior year of high school in 2008, which collected many of his fellow students from his high school, G-Star School of the Arts.
Originally written as a feature film it ultimatly became a short film due to time and resources, and was done with post-production at the end of 2011. "This project would have never been done without the support of friend and family" said Kyle Gehring.
Short Film Synopsis: Zander, an FBI agent, stands on the brink of unraveling a longstanding case. When the FBI opts to close the investigation, he takes matters into his own hands and adopts an undercover identity. His mission: construct a compelling case that will ultimately bring down the notorious drug kingpin of the region, Al Palmer.

Support of Friends & Family Pays Off

Kyle Gehring from West Palm Beach, FL took home the Best New Filmmaker Award for his short film; Aversion Conspiracy.
The film was originally written as a feature-length film, but because of time and lack of funding he turned it into a short film. It took two years, the support of friends, family and since his grandfather was a contractor it aided in finding locations at no cost. This was the first film Gehring made outside of school films. His advice to filmmakers is, “Don’t let anything hold you back if this is what you want to do.”
